My name is Tom Gantert. As an endurance athlete, I have had the pleasure of meeting many extraordinary competitors. In my 20 years as an endurance athlete, I have never met anyone like Amanda Nelson. Amanda lives in Woodstock, Ontario, and has been competing in ultramarathons since 2020. Despite being a relative newcomer to the sport, she has distinguished herself as an elite athlete and one of the best ultra-runners in the country. In September 2021, she set a new course record and captured the Canadian soil 24-hour record at That Damn Hill race in London, Ontario. She then set new female 100-mile and 12-hour records at the Canadian National Champions in Edmonton in June 2022. Most recently, at the World Satellite Backyard Championships held in British Columbia in October 2022, Amanda competed for Team Canada and was the top woman runner out of 544 athletes. She has been invited to compete in the Race of the Champions, Backyard Masters, held in Rettert, Germany, in 2023. Amanda needs your help to pay for the travel and accommodations so that she can represent Canada at this prestigious event. Help back a winner. She will do you and Canada proud!!!
