Hi, my name is Amber Lynch and I am 18 years of age.
I am currently a fulltime Contemporary dancer at the National College of Dance, Newcastle, Australia and I will complete my Diploma of Dance at the end of 2019.
I have recently auditioned for, and have been offered an opportunity to study, at the prestigious Iwanson School of Contemporary Dance in Munich, Germany, to commence in March 2020. This is a 3 year course resulting in a Diploma of Contemporary Dance.
This a very rare opportunity for dancers who wish to become a professional contemporary dancer.
I have been dancing since 6 years of age, and have put in 12 years of hard work to get to where I am so far. I am looking forward to moving up to the next professional level which will help me achieve my goals of going overseas to further my dance career, and make my dream come true! My dream is to be accepted into a contemporary dance company and travel around the world performing!
This once in a lifetime opportunity requires substantial financial consideration. I believe that my skills, dedication and commitment will enable me to successfully complete the course, and launch my professional career, if I am able to gain financial support to complete the course.
My commitment to dance can be shown from my achievements to date which include:
• I was a part of the premiere “Lord of the Rings” with the National College of Dance, in collaboration with Australian Youth Orchestra under the direction of Brett Morgan.
• Was selected out of 150+ students to perform with the company in the Victorian State Ballets touring performance “Don Quixote” – 2019
• Was selected out of 150+ students to perform with the company in the Victorian State Ballets touring performance “Le Corsaire” – 2018
• Selected to perform as one of the 3 mirlitons in the Nutcracker and be apart of the snowflakes and flower party in the Premiere show with Premiere Studios- 2017
• Silver medal for contemporary in school national finals – 2016
• Selected as Australian representative to perform in 'Dance Around the World' at Disneyland, Hollywood and Universal Studios at 11 years of age – 2012
Unfortunately my family have had some challenges with helping me funding this by ourselves as my dad had to prematurely retire from work, and close his barber shop, at the end of 2018 at the age of 58 years due to his Stage 4 cancer diagnosis. This has severely impacted on our family’s financial situation as my mum is working to support my dad, my brother 16yrs and sister 13yrs and myself.
I would be extremely grateful for any kind donations which will assist with my college fees, transport, accommodation and costumes at Iwanson in Germany.
Thank you for helping me,
Kind thoughts, Amber
