Baby Henley Jean ❤️

Donation protected
After being sick for a week and being in and out of the pediatrician’s office and sent to specialists, Henley Jean took a turn for the worse on Friday, December 13, and was taken to the ER.Henley presented with sunken eyes, lethargy, discoloration, weakness, and dehydration.  She had been vomiting for five days and had refused to feed for the first time in her 55 days of life. When she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Pediatric ICU she weighed close to her birth weight and had a terrifyingly high white blood cell count. Her parents, Zay and James feared the worst.
Henley was placed on IV fluids and antibiotics while a myriad of blood tests and lab work were conducted, ruling out different scary diseases and viral and bacterial strains, one by one.  With the help of medical attention and excellent care from nurses and physicians, prayers were answered, and Henley’s condition began improving. After two days in ICU, her vitals stabilized. She got her color back. She got her cry back. She got “back to the boob” and has been gaining weight back. Her personality had resurfaced, and Zay and James breathed easier.
On Sunday, day three of their hospital stay, the Warfield family got a diagnosis- what took their baby under was a UTI, which is treatable in infants via antibiotic drip through IV over the course of two weeks. Henley’s first Christmas will be in the hospital and the family hopes to return home soon after with a healthy baby.
Now that the grateful parents can stop holding their breath, a new burden settles its heavy weight upon their shoulders: financial.  A fourteen day stay in the hospital, even with insurance, is very expensive. And with Zay on maternity leave from work, the Warfields’ already tight budget will become impossible.

That’s where you come in, be you a dear friend, casual acquaintance, or compassionate reader. Please help contribute to Henley’s Healthcare Fund and make another Christmas miracle happen for the Warfield family.  Every fund raised will lighten the load, and there is no gift too small.
