Hello,
My name is Billy and I am a 57 year old married man.
I am originally from Mooncoin and now live in Piltown, Co. Kilkenny with my wife Teresa.
On 08th August 2010, at the age of 49, I suffered a stroke which left me with nerve damage which causes constant pain.
I now have a disc that is pressing on my spine and could cause paralysis and/or bladder or bowel damage at any moment.
I need an operation as a matter of urgency and have been booked in for this 08th August 2018 with Mr Joseph Butler from the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin.( The date is ironic but hopefully a sign of a more positive event in my life).
I have not been able to work for the past 8 years due to my medical condition.
The HSE will not even put me on a waiting list so there is no option but to go private.
It has been a difficult decision for me to ask for help and start this GOFUNDME page but my health and future with my wife take priority over my pride.
The details of where the money will go is outlined below as per consultation details from Mr Butler.
Operation: €7, 836
Consultancy Fees: €550
MRI scans: €500
Post Op rehabilitation is the remaining approx. 1k
With your support, I will hopefully be able to live a life that is relatively pain free and regain some of my lost independence.
