Get Brian on the road again!

My name is Isaiah Friedman. I'm raising these funds for one of my dearest and oldest friends Brian Keddy.(pictured above) 18 yrs ago Brian was in a motorcycle accident and as a result he was left paralyzed. At the time of the accident his wife then was pregnant with their daughter Karissa. As you can imagine his condition requires that he depends on other people for help with the many daily task that we all take for granted. He has not let this detour him from doing the things he loves like camping, hunting, fishing and raising his daughter who has turned out to be a wonderful young woman. He is my hero and an inspiration to all. 12 yrs ago, 6 yrs after the accident, he purchased a minivan and with some help was able to get it modified so he could operate it himself. Brian had a part of his independence back and it felt good! Unfortunately that independence has been taken away again due to the fact that the ramp and door system ( all custom ) is no longer functional . The parts are no longer under warranty and the cost of the repairs is prohibitive due to the aging condition of the van which Brian bought second hand from the beginning. In order for Brian to be transported anywhere it requires a specialized vehicle that he can get in and out of from his wheel chair. It must be further modified to allow him to drive from his chair using only the limited motions of his hands. Technology is amazing! Brian did not ask me to do this and I could tell he was hesitant to let me do so and I understand why. He is proud. The goal is to raise $130,000 which would cover the cost of the new van and the necessary modifications which cost $80,000- $90,000. I want to get Brian his independence back and get him behind the wheel and back on the road again. His life is tough enough and donating to this cause is something we can all do to help out a great guy who deserves a little help.
