Get Chip walking again

Hi, my name is Chip and this weekend past, on my 5th birthday, my spine decided to pack in so my parents used all of their money to put me through an emergency operation at the University of Glasgow. It was that or be put to sleep and I am still a young dog. The vet said a few of the discs were in pretty bad state and that it was completely unavoidable. The operation has a 93% success rate otherwise they would have put me out of my suffering, as I was in debilitating pain. I can't walk, eat, or urinate without help right now and my parents will be taking shifts 24/7 to support me until I am strong enough to regain basic function and start doing my physio exercises. The road ahead is long and tricky but I am strong and still full of life. So far our medical fees have amounted to just under £8,000 with an additional £500 at the local vet two days before I went in for an emergency procedure. My mum and dad cancelled my insurance a month before this happened because the provider increased the monthly fee by 45% from £100 to £145 per month despite having never claimed and as per the fine print, any pre-existing degenerative issues would not have been covered anyway. What can I say, I'm a luxury breed with health issues like millions of other unfortunate rescues.

We are expecting further bills for physiotherapy and check up appointments through at the University of Glasgow small vet centre who have been brilliant and we know Chip has many adorning fans who might want to help out. If you can't help, that is ABSOLUTELY okay, we already feel cringe-y for even starting this because we completely understand everyone has their own responsibilities and outgoings.
