Help Chris and Donna through a difficult few months ahead
Donation protected
Hi, I’m doing this fundraiser to help Chris and Donna to get funds they need due to Chris needing a major operation in London,uk.
The money raised will help take of the financial restrains to help Donna and her Family including there children fund hotels and petrol - the money will also help Chris to get an electric wheelchair and any other adaptations he made need to get once he comes out of hospital.
here is a snippet of a post Donna shared on social media:
For those of you who don't know, Chris has Sacral Cancer and he is having alot of organs removed, alot of bones, plastic surgery, amongst other stuff but
I think that's about all I can manage to share right now.
The operation is on the 5th June just over a week away, we only got the operation confirmed and the date last week so we're all very emotional, we have a lot to do and sort out and this is a very precious time and there's not a lot of it, we're literally counting the hours.
So if we don't reply or acknowledge messages just know we are grateful and whether we read now or in the future your support, prayers & encouragement will definitely help us as a family at some point and in some way.
Chris's Operation is at St Marks specialist hospital for Complex Cancer Cases in London, it's the biggest operation they do and then some they only do this type of operation 3 to 4 times a year!
It's a 16 hour operation and he has to be admitted @ 1 o'clock the day before for all the preparation that goes with it.
Chris will have to stay in hospital for 2 to 3 months to get over the operation itself and recovery will be about 12 months. I will be there as much as I can, but I obviously have to work to keep us going and it's around a 2 hour commute each way, Marie my lovely sister in law will also be commuting from Manchester so between us, hopefully he will have someone there most days but he's gonna get lonely. It's a long time to be away from your family and home but he will have his phone so keep the messages coming in, it will keep him busy when he needs something to do or some motivation
This is going to be a major life change, He will have to learn to walk again, he will be left with 1 possibly 2 drop feet and will have a shoe splint/s for life he will need a walking aid. When he is well enough to leave hospital it will probably be in a wheelchair.
This has been the hardest decision of Chris's life, the alternative to not taking the operation would only give Chris 2 years and we don't know how soon he would deteriorate. Cancer is so cruel and Chris has been through so much already since he was initially diagnosed in August 2021. He is a fighter and I'm so incredibly proud of him. I love him with every beat of my heart we all do, it's just so unfair
