Get Destiny to UT

Donation protected
On May 31st, the day every senior looked forward to, I graduated from DeSoto High School. As I took center stage to deliver my Valedictorian Address, I knew that this chapter had closed and we were on to greater things. My story started my 8th grade year when I was faced with one of the greatest heartbreak a student could face, the loss of a parent. One of my promises to my biological Mom was to strive for greatness and I poured my heart into my education. Although being Valedictorian was not my greatest desire, I knew it would open up opportunities for me to strive to reach my educational goals. University of Texas was always a goal school for me and I worked hard everyday even in the summers to have an opportunity to get into the college and not be a financial burden to my parents. Being the Valedictorian allowed me the opportunity to work just as hard to obtain a scholarship to cover my tuition the remaining years of my college career. The fact that I was stripped of my title is simple to me, but the burden of now knowing I may not be able to afford to attend UT in the fall is the hardest. I am just asking for support whether it’s a pray, encouraging word, or a donation. What has been done is done, but now I must prepare myself beyond DeSoto High School. Thank you and God Bless!
