If you live in Naivasha you (should) know and love Dougie. We all do. The friendly, helpful, generous soul who always supports his family, friends and peers without a second thought.
Dr. Douglas has worked super hard to keep us safe over the last two years. As the infection prevention and control coordinator, he helped navigate the Naivasha hospital through the COVID-19 pandemic, creating and implementing policies that prevented the majority of staff from contracting the virus as well as protocols for the treatment of affected patients
Unbelievably, at the same time, Dougie managed to complete a clinical pharmacy internship program and has now been awarded a spot on a prestigious leadership fellowship in Washington, D.C. - the Mandela Fellowship for Young African Leaders.
The fellowship runs for six weeks, giving fellows the opportunity to exchange their professional experiences, network across different industries and meet with U.S. Government, civic and business leaders, culminating in a summit with young leaders from across Africa in Washington, D.C.
The fellowship will provide accommodation and meals for his stay, but Douglas needs to raise money for his travel costs and subsistence needs whilst in the US.
Let's get Dougie to DC and help him out with the next stage of his career! Thank you and asante sana.
