Help get Drag & Draw to the Edinburgh Fringe 2023

Hi everyone!

For those of you that are not familiar, Drag & Draw launched in Feb 2018 when two mates and classmates Adrian Colwell and Ailbhe O'Connor decided they wanted to put their studies to good work and host an arts event together.

After talking through some ideas, the concept of a life drawing class with performers as models were settled on. Identifying also the need for alternative social opportunities for the LGBTQ+ community and the power of the arts as a platform connection, the idea for Drag & Draw quickly emerged!

Our initial event was hosted in Street 66, Dublin 2... an amazing and inclusive queer space who have supported us since its inception.

Since then we have hosted the event across Ireland, taken it online during the COVID years, collaborated with various arts organisations and initiatives and hosted international queens from Ru Paul's Drag Race. Our models have supported our initiative and continued our evolving lesson plan and ethos. Lovely and talented people have come on to the team like Aine Macken and Mazahir Hussain who have also greatly influenced what we do.

And now... we're delighted to say that we have been accepted into the 2023 programme for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and we will be hosting the sessions for a 5-day run from the 4th - 8th of August in the Underbelly Theatre!

But it's a pricey affair getting to the Fringe and we need some financial support to cover travel, accommodation and supplies!
