Hi everyone!
As many of you already know, back in September Drew embarked on a long time dream of riding his motorcycle cross country. He got many miles on his bike and had great adventures, but unfortunately on Monday, September 21st, Drew was involved in an accident on his motorcycle. He suffered broken ribs, torn ACL and MCL, a laceration to his head, and a major spinal cord injury, leaving him with a 5% chance of walking again. He is slowly recovering but has a long road ahead of us. With that being said, we are going out of our comfort zone in these trying times, to try to raise money to go towards Drews rehabilitation, medical, and personal bills. Our goal is to get him in a prestigious rehabilitation facility, to allow the best chance possible to get the big guy back on his feet. We cannot thank you all enough for the love and support we have already received. Love you all!
To get a little more in-depth: We are currently still in the the University of New Mexico Albuquerque Hospital, he was airlifted here from Taos, NM Hospital Monday night. Drew does have health coverage but there will be exponential hospital bills from the helicopter ride, spinal surgery, the time already spent in the hospital, and the rest of recovery time to come. We are unsure of the remaining time we will spend in UNMAH, the goal is to transfer to Craig Hospital in Englewood Colorado for long term spinal rehabilitation once he has reached a certain level of recovery here in New Mexico.
