Dunton Green Primary School is launching a fundraising Minibus Appeal, and we need your help. The school does not currently possess its own bus and therefore has to rely on the goodwill of other local schools to provide transportation.
A minibus for the school would:
· Enable our pupils to attend sports competitions alongside other schools in the area, and county-wide - such as our school football team proudly pictured above!
· Allow pupils to attend swimming lessons, learning a valuable and potentially lifesaving skill
· Give pupils the opportunity to further support the local community around Sevenoaks, including visiting with residents at local care homes, undertake voluntary work etc.
· Enrich our pupils’ experience of the outdoors, by visiting local nature reserves and food-growing initiatives
· Transport our pupils to music performances by the school choir, such as carol singing
The cost of purchasing a much-needed minibus for the school is in the region of at least £20,000, with annual maintenance and running costs of around £1,000. A gift from you, however large or small, will make a huge difference to the educational experience of current and future students, and is very deeply appreciated.
Tracey Bonas, Headteacher, says: “We have seen great improvements in our school in recent years, both academically and in terms of extra-curricular activities. We would love for our students to have the same opportunities as those attending other local primary schools. A school mini bus would transform our ability to support our pupils to grow their horizons and skills.”
