This has turned into a totally weird post that goes in a lot of directions, sorry in advance
A very wise vet of mine once told me the words “just say no!”, thank you Dr Neher for those words of wisdom. Later he told me to stop going down that road! Literally and figuratively. As in, stop going down that road to the shelter and I won’t have all these problems lol. Assuming he’s going to wind up reading this post and my secret will be out after years of lectures LOL know the Taylor swift song “Should’ve Said No”? Well…every time I do something dumb I hear his words of wisdom with a little Taylor swift singing “you should’ve said no” in the background while I sit and think about what I just did
Bet you’re wondering what I did aren’t you? I should’ve said no…but….I didn’t. And I’m hoping you guys can help me! His name is Garland
I got a text about this little guy who had been at manatee county animal services for 6 days, his stray hold was up yesterday so he was getting neutered. Someone noticed his leg looked weird and a bone was sticking out ♀️ he sat there like that for 6 days. No pain meds. They also couldn’t get X-rays. I called Dr Roses office at 4 o’clock and was like can you guys pleeeaaasssseeee squeeze this in even though you’re closing. How awesome are they that they fit him in at 4:45? He’s now on pain meds and antibiotics. Currently with Dr sabshin getting his general exam and felv/fiv test. Because we have so many amazing vets that squeeze these babies in with no notice
He has a major tibia fibula fracture that’s poking through his skin. It’s an older fracture. He’s scheduled for surgery on Monday. They’re hoping they can get a plate on with two screws in the distal portion but there may not be enough space and they may have to cross pin it and then put it in a cast for a couple weeks. As usual we are looking around the $3000-$3500 range for this repair. We do not have spare funds floating after all the recent enormous bills, so we need to raise this by Monday so he can have his much needed surgery.
Please consider sending a few dollars to help Garland get back on his feet and feeling better soon! Every single dollar sent helps and will get him closer to surgery! We only have a few days to raise the needed funds.
