I'm Iris Du and I'm running as an Independent candidate for the City of Melton Council in October 2024

Since relocating here as a 15-year-old in 2000, I’ve learned the values of sacrifice, perseverance, and hard work, alongside the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for families. These values drive my commitment to serve and uplift our community today.

As someone who has seen both the beauty and the challenges that rapid growth brings to our community, I believe we need proactive leadership to address these changes. My vision for Melton is simple: a community where families feel secure, where local businesses thrive, and where we all work together to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard.

Picture a future where traffic congestion, particularly on Taylors Road, thoughtfully addressed, and parks, public spaces, and daily activities enjoyed without stress. Accessible healthcare is tailored to our growing population, with the new Melton Hospital as a beacon of care for all.

As an elected Councillor I will listen to the community to make sure we're doing everything we can to ensure a safer and brighter future for all our City of Melton residents. These are the three things reasons I'm running.
