Hello my name is Jack Charles Alexander, better known as Jack-Jack. I am 4 years old and going to pre-K this fall. However, before I go I need to have surgery on my feet again. You see I was born with bilateral club foot and as you know I can't play for the St. Louis Cardinals unless I can run really fast. Mommy says I am very close now but my next surgery will help me make the team in a few years.

Club foot is a birth defect in which the foot is twisted out of shape and position. Check out my pictures! My doctor started me in treatment at 9 days old with braces, then after 6 weeks they moved to casts. I meet Dr. Dobbs at St. Louis Children's Hospital and he told mommy I would need surgery to fix them. Dr. Dobbs is the BEST in his field with a great success rate using his Ponseti method. So of coarse mommy said yes! After my first surgery healed and my casts were removed I got to wear special boots attached to a bar for 4 years. You should see how good my mom is at putting those back on a 100 times a day. I made sure she was pro-level.

As you can imagine this delayed me learning to walk but I have mastered it now and you should see me round the bases. Recently mommy started to noticed during my inning's that feet were turning in again so back to Dr. Dobbs we went and guess what? I have to have another surgery. As bummed as I am that baseball will be put on hold for a few months, he is confident that I will be sliding into home for spring training.

Now for the crazy part, during my treatments Dr. Dobbs moved his practice to West Palm Beach, Florida. So this means mommy and I have to take a very long trip and stay in Florida for a few months during my recovery. Unfortunately, this means mommy has to take a leave of absence from work. So I was wondering if my family and friends would be willing to help us? Every little bit helps us get there and get me back on the field.
