Hi, I’m Jacky! I’m a 20 year old queer trans man raising top surgery funds for the coming year.

After my consultation with the GraceMed Clinic in Mississauga, I received a procedure quotation for $3503.00 CAD. This, unfortunately, will force myself and my family to stretch ourselves thin in order to make this happen for me. In typical Iranian immigrant fashion, they are willing to make it work but at a sacrifice to themselves. I don’t want to see them struggle financially for my surgery.

I will need to withdraw from my full-time courses at UWaterloo and take a break from working after my surgery. While recovering with my family in Toronto, I would still need to pay at least one month’s rent at my student apartment in Waterloo.

I would like to raise $4128.00 CAD to cover both surgery costs and the cost of one month’s rent ($625.00 CAD—what a steal!)

I want to reach out to my community to ask for help so I, as well as my retired parents, can have peace of mind throughout my recovery. Getting top surgery is an absolute dream, but I should not have to ask my family to choose supporting me over paying their bills!
