Hi, all--Sara here, friend of Monkey's parents. Below are the basics of why they're asking for help here, but I wanted to first express my profound love and care for these two amazing humans. They're truly some of the best I've known, and if you know them you agree. Let's lift them up in love just as they always do for everyone around them.
Ashley and Megan are the loving parents of seven-year-old rescue pup Monkey. Thanks to being scooped up by Megan six years ago, Monkey went from an abusive and neglectful home to an affirming and supportive one.
In only a few months, Ashley and Megan have had their lives turned completely upside-down: Megan suffered a major back injury, and was subsequently rushed to the hospital via ambulance with a pulmonary embolism in her lungs and two in her legs; then shortly afterward, they lost their income while trying to balance all of the medical trauma and bills.
On top of this, when Monkey started losing weight rapidly, Ashley and Megan took him to the vet. They were told that he needs an emergency dental surgery without which he will not be able to eat properly due to an exposed nerve. The total cost of this surgery will be $1, 500.
