family that was scammed of $7200 for a fake rental property

Hi, my name is Brooklyn. My mom was unfortunately lied to about receiving a rental. She was shown the house, told the move-in date, given a date to receive the keys, but the house was already being rented out despite all the info she was given. She was told to pay first month's, last month's and the next month's rent, and they took all the money she gave them. This really devastated my mom, I've never seen her seem so helpless as she's usually very strong. It really hurt to see my mom just crumble like that, so I want to help her. My mom is in a difficult position right now as she really needed that house since our previous landlord needed our old home back. She is currently living with a friend with my 2 brothers, and I am living with my dad. Our family is split up and it's taking a toll on all of us. I want us to be able to live together again so my Mom can gain her strength back, and we can have everything go back to normal again. Any funds raised will go towards making payments for a new home.
