Hi, my name is Carmine and I’m fundraising for my friend, Mae Boyle, who recently lost the transmission in her Subaru. She had just gotten her engine redone in hopes to ensure her vehicle is reliable and safe for her work. Like so many of us Mainers, our vehicles are crucial to getting us around this giant state to socialize, work, and be in nature.

Mae is a tenacious and creative queer person who is just starting her business, Mae I Guide You. She is a certified Maine guide who leads folks on immersive nature adventures within the limits and needs of their physical bodies. Her business is focused on eliminating and reducing the barriers for connecting with nature, and works with people across the spectrum of resources and physical abilities.

Mae says it often, “it’s the journey, not the destination.”

You may have met Mae traveling around the Midcoast with her two cats. You may have seen her social media invites to join her in monthly walking meditation. She is a social being full of light, committed to forging new ways to be in community and always wanting to connect her friends and community members with each other. She knows how to bridge many gaps in the world, and has an incredible well of compassion for people.

I have been grateful to know Mae as she grows her business, and we spent many hours growing our individual businesses together.

Mae is in a vulnerable place as she works to launch her new business. She has given so much to our Midcoast community, and I am excited to watch as she continues to expand and change accessibility to nature for Mainers, especially for Queer community around Maine.
