Get Pan Nation to panorama

We are Pan Nation steel orchestra; a local community steel band based in Tottenham, North London. 

With your support, we need help to raise £20,000 to send around 100 young people to play at the National Panorama Competition in London, Saturday 27th August 2022. Please give generously and help us make this summer a summer that they will remember and treasure forever.

Pan Nation is a fairly young band compared to the other established and renowned bands in the UK. Having just turned 13 years old, we are a grass roots band that work with various schools across London, especially in the Haringey area. We work with people from all backgrounds and the first generation of players to grow through in the band are now nurturing and supporting the next generation of players.

We are all very proud at Pan Nation of our inclusive and nurturing culture which we have cultivated in order for all members to feel safe, thrive and grow to their full potential. Our deep and ongoing connection with our local community is extremely important to us. We offer a safe space for budding young pan players to join in and create music together once a week, boosting self esteem and supporting mental health. Something that PN inspires to help through our musical journey.

We hold regular adult classes at beginner and intermediate levels and provide a short course to introduce steel pan to all. We help people to fulfil their life dreams of playing in a steel band to produce that unique beautiful sound, reminiscent of the Caribbean. 

In order for us to attend the National Panorama competition, we have to cover a wide range of costs, such as:

A pair of sticks for a player (approx £8 -£20)

Player individual t-shirts (£15)

Tuning per instrument (£50 - £70)

3 x van hires, transporting instruments (£2500)

1 x Artic float hire (£1500)

Rehearsal space hire (approx £5000)

Food at rehearsals for all players

Hiring staging for the performance

And much, much more.

We would love to create this as an accessible opportunity and experience for our members to showcase their talents and to join with the wider pan community. It's a once in a lifetime moment for all.

And it's OUR OPPORTUNITY to prove our skills and the signature music of the one and only Pan Nation.

The National Panorama competition enables us to bring people and communities together from all over the globe and we are grateful to have players join us internationally as well as nationally.
