Get Pat to Stroke treatment in the USA.

HI My name is Patrick Finnigan.

Ive lived in Whyalla in South Australia since 1967. Asking for help is something I never thought I would need to do. Unfortunatley, now I need help.

Living in Whyalla I played soccer for Steel United, Whyalla Wanderers, The Whyalla United team in the Rothmans league, then Lions Soccer club. Being fortunate to be given Life membership with Wanderes, Whyalla City (for Darts), Lions and the Northern Areas Soccer Association. My crowning glory was getting the Australian Sports Medal in 2000, on behalf of Queen Elizabeth 11.

Tragically, in 2018 I suffered a massive stroke that has left me paralysed on the left side of my body, blind on the left side of both my eyes, and brain damage to my short term memory.

I spent 3 week in the Royal Adelaide Hospital, then 5 weeks in the Flinders Hospital REhabilitaion Unit, followed by 4 more weeks in the Whyalla Hospital. At the end of this treatment I was placed in Aged Care in Whyalla. Aged Care is not a fit for purpose provider as they are not funded to aid and care for Stroke Victims or vitims of Traumatic Brain Injury.

During this time my Wife was diagnosed with several tumors in the brain and her body, she passed away 7 months after her diagnosis.

My sister-in-law since has been trying to get me on Clinical Trials here in Australia for Stroke treatment called Peri Spinal Entanercept. this treatment has shown fantastic results in repairing alot of stroke and brain damage. Unfortunatley Covid prevented me from getting to these trails. Which have now finished and the documentation is stil to be presented to the Federal Government. Due to the length of time this may take, I feel I can no longer wait several years before this special treatment is made available.

With this in mind I am asking if anyone can assist me to get to the USA, for this treatment. Following the results of the trails and posting of people who have had this treamnt , we feel this is my last and best chance of having a nearly normal life should it work as well for me as it has for others.
