Get Robin Harris into a Home

Robin Harris has been a lifelong activist and advocate for people struggling for housing, healthcare, equality, and other basic rights here in Central Florida. As an organizer with Central Florida Mutual Aid, Robin has helped folx from all walks of life get their basic needs met. And she's a caring friend who's always there. Now it's our turn to step up and advocate for Robin.

 

Robin's landlord is refusing to renew her lease at a time when rent across Florida has increased more than 30% over the last year — and nearly 60% in Orlando. Right now, a basic one-bedroom apartment averages $1739 per month. With a payment of first month's rent, last month's rent, and a damage deposit, that puts the total move-in cost at $5217! Robin will not have enough funds to get into a new apartment before her lease ends, and we are working together to get her things in storage and make sure she has a place to sleep at night.

 

Your donations will help us get Robin back into her own apartment, and any funds raised beyond her actual costs will go to the Central Florida Mutual Aid Fund to help other folx facing financial emergencies.
