Help Ryan Get a Blue Tooth Braille Display
Our friend Ryan has been a part of the NYC "DIY" music community for years now as an active listener, promoter, booker and talented musician in his own right.
He's fallen on hard times recently and has been through the shelter system and is currently trying to get on his feet with a more stable work and living situation. In order to do this he needs to have a braille display which for legal reasons that are shocking and unfortunate he is not able to obtain from the Government.
Ryan is an independent person but he recently lost the ability to properly network, write emails and generally navigate the world when his last display broke. He has experience in radio / podcasting production and he would like to be able to send out resumes for a possible internship with a radio station, he's also interested in learning pottery etc etc this piece of technology is really necessary for him to properly engage with the world.
The cheapest Blue tooth braille display is about $1000 and they can be as expensive as $5000.
Everyone who is blind should have access to this, but because of troubling convoluted legal issues related to his housing / income status he is being denied this piece of equipment that he needs, so we are doing this fundraiser.
