Get Sam training to be a medical service animal!

Hi, my name is Megan and I’m sharing to help raise money to pay for Sam’s service animal training. Sam is a Bernese mountain dog and poodle mix and is already learning how to be a puppy. The money raised for Sam would go directly toward his service animal training. As we know, animals can be expensive to have just as companions. Vet charges, food charges, even toys and getting the daily enrichment they need. But when you take that extra step in your medical care and recruit a working animal to help you get through day-to-day life, that can be the most expensive of all. Every trainer is different, but on average any individual who decides to get a licensed service animal will be paying between $15000 to $30,000. Sam will be trained to help notice signs of my ADHD, depressive, and OCD episodes and work to get me in a safe place and practice safe habits. He will also be assisting with my fibromyalgia and attending many doctor visits with me! Although the daunting price might have scared me away from this possibility, I’ve weighed all my options and decided to be strong and set a goal to help myself thrive with my personal physical and mental illnesses. Service animals all around the world help keep their handlers safe every single day from themselves and others. They are working professional dogs and are required to be trained for specific tasks related to what the person might need, and that is a big ask of the animal to train them to be able to know what and when their handler needs something. Tons of time and work go into training, and between the trainer and myself, I am dedicated to working with my pup and having him be the best help to my needs I can.
