Get Scots to the Let Us Be Heard March in London

Donation protected
It’s crunch time for Brexit. With only weeks to go until 31 October, and bruising parliamentary battles in sight, we need to go ‘all in’ to keep Britain in the EU.

The European Movement in Scotland and Highlands for Europe are raising funds for coaches from Edinburgh to the “Let Us Be Heard” march on 19 October, organised in London by the People’s Vote campaign. Beyond this, any surplus will be spent on pro-EU events volunteers are arranging in Scotland in the coming weeks.

Scotland has had a strong representation in the previous landmark marches in London. Now, the new Prime Minister and his hardline policies are even more unpopular in Scotland than last time. It is more important than ever that Scotland’s voice is heard, and that Scotland sends a large contingent down to London.

We are raising £1,000 towards the cost of each coach, which will enable us to lower the price of a seat for those willing to make the journey. For the previous large-scale march in London this March, we were able to provide travel from as far afield as Orkney and Lewis. History will be made again on 19 October, and we once again aspire to offer the opportunity to as many people as possible, regardless of income. (Instructions for signing up for the journey will be published separately.)

After booking the necessary number of coaches, any money left over will be spent on covering costs from upcoming campaign events in Scotland. These include the 21 September March to Remain, starting at 2pm at St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh; a giveaway of a thousand EU flags at the Proms in Glasgow on 14 September; a Meet Your MPs event in Perth on 26 September; and many more.

If we stop Brexit, it’ll be over on the same day. If we leave the EU, the country will face turmoil and uncertainty for years to come. We need to do everything we can to stop it now.
