Get Sheffield Hospital Radio Back ON AIR

We are starting this fundraiser as our service is currently OFF AIR after the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust deemed our studio to be unsafe under their Health and Safety considerations. Thankfully the Trust has identified a new studio space on the Royal Hallamshire Hospital site which will allow the service to recommence this year after we have converted it to a broadcast studio area.

We are raising funds to soundproof the new studio and purchase new equipment. Our current equipment is over 20 years old and is breaking down and therefore must now be replaced.

We have been actively fundraising with tin collections at supermarkets but the money raised so far will unfortunately not cover the necessary refurbishment cost to the new studio space and the equipment needed to restart the service.

Sheffield Hospital Radio has been in existence for 48 years since 1976, providing entertainment and companionship to Sheffield hospital patients. 40% of patients never receive visits from family or friends and our members provide their time voluntarily to visit around 5,000 patients every year. We are that happy cheerful face they can spend 10 mins with to brighten their day. Please donate whatever you can no matter how small to help us do what we love and that’s broadcast to the patients again.
