Get Sparky: Giant Rideable Unicorn to Festivals!

Donation protected
Sparky, the Giant Rideable Unicorn Art Bicycle, needs your help to get to Festivals!

Sparky the Giant Rideable Unicorn is the creation of Ithaca, NY based artists Doug 'Nataraj' Shire and Laurence 'Radar' Clarkberg, a six-month labor of love for the communities that have supported us so much.  It is a truly awesome piece of mobile art, standing some 12 feet high and covered with 6500 color- changing LEDs.  Sparky was built to be able to support the weight of two adult riders in the saddle, and may be pedaled and steered by two participants down below using a modified bike cart with an electric motor assist.

Sparky has also been thoughtfully designed to be equally as attractive when experienced in the daytime.  The tail is made from fiber optics, and the spectacular horn is programmed with constantly changing sequences of color spirals.  The head is articulated, and easily moved by the rider holding the reins to create gestures and bring Sparky to life!

Here's where we need your help.  Sparky has cost thousands in raw materials to assemble and build, and we have obtained a truck and trailer with which to transport Sparky to festivals - but, we need to raise funds for this season's roundtrip expenses and routine maintenance, which we estimate at $2,500.  A gift of any amount would be very appreciated, and past support has enabled such cool happenings as Sparky bringing a bride to her wedding in the desert!  :)
