GET SUNDAY LEMONADE BACK ON THE ROAD!

Donation protected
Hello!

If you’re seeing this, you might know Tyson & myself, Loz, we have been touring the country as SUNDAY LEMONADE playing music for a few years now (links to songs, socials & video at bottom of page). We play uplifting, optimistic songs and have been told our show is like watching a rom-com sprinkled with infectious joy! We love nothing more than moving to town sharing our happy around!

But just last week, our little lemony world was absolutely rocked when our campervan that we live in and rely on to continue touring suddenly stopped going..

THE INCIDENT -
We were making our way through country WA, listening to a podcast when suddenly *BANG*! Thinking it was a tyre, Tys and I took it in our stride - problem solving fun!

After a quick assessment we realised the damage wasn’t visible and we had actually lost connection between our engine and our wheels..
A few calls to the mechanic in the closest town, and more to RAC and RACV over the following three hours watching a thunderstorm roll towards us, we were then tied to the back of a 4 wheel drive and towed to the only mechanic close by that could physically fit our big girl.

The most hectic rain and hail poured down, thunder and EPIC cracks of lightening, all too loud to talk over, as we stood in a giant shed in the industrial estate of this tiny town surround by their usual work of huge road trains and trucks.

We were told that we’d be lucky to get it diagnosed by the end of the week, we could sleep in our van that night but by the morning we needed to be off site.

Suddenly we’re stranded, without our travelling home - bed, kitchen and our means of getting to the rest of the shows on this tour (we’re in WA until the beginning of January then SA, VIC & due to finish the tour at Tamworth Country Music Festival as well as supported The Rubens in Victoria in the middle of the festival!).

Thankfully the mechanics actually squeezed Minnie in the following day so we sat and waited..

HOURS LATER, WE WERE GIVEN THE NEWS & COST:

  • Our rear axle has been completely bust and stripped bare- no evidence of necessary cog parts left to move our wheels (very crucial as the van is a rear wheel drive.)
  • There are two appropriate parts in the entirety of Australia but they’re on the east coast of NSW and need to be freighted to the Wild West. They’ll hopefully arrive before the workshop closes for Christmas.
  • Including parts ($5315.20), wiring ($330), oil & workshop consumables ($248), labour costs ($1188) and estimated freight cost ($500), we have an estimated total of $7581.20

I understand that given our lifestyle and the amount of driving we do, car repair is expected & inevitable but lately, it’s just felt like a lot..
Just the mechanic bills of the month of October alone tallied over $1,000.

Since the incident we’ve also been spending on things we wouldn’t usually:
Accommodation - $200 + so far
Food & drinks (as we no longer have our kitchen with us at all times we’re eating out a lot more) - $300 +

HOW YOUR DONATION WILL HELP:
I’m not expecting all cost to be covered, but if you are in the position to spare anything it would be so appreciated.

We’ve been saving our pennies whilst touring, intentionally putting that money aside for recording and studio time early next year. We were aiming to have some paid ‘time off’ while we’re working on the tracks so as to be wholeheartedly in the recording & mixing process.

Unfortunately we have no choice but to take this mechanical mess & financial hit out of our recording fund.

All I want is to continue playing shows and making music to keep spreading that Sunday Lemonade joy as far and wide as possible. I absolutely believe the world needs it to counteract the chaos!

We’ve got a beautiful community here and your support has got us this far, without your kindness and generosity I don’t know what we would have done so please know, it hasn’t gone unnoticed or appreciated!

Already the emotional support since the incident has been overwhelming and for that, I’m incredibly grateful. I cannot say that enough.

Your donation will help us to replace the recording funds we’ve used to pay for these mechanical expenses.

If you’ve read this far.. I really appreciate you taking the time.

From the bottom of our lemony hearts…
Thank you so much,
Loz & Tyson
