Get the Sherman family back home to Seattle!

Hi my name is Brittany Shull. I am starting this Gofundme for my best friend Merlee Sherman.

 

As many of you know she is an amazing mother to her two children Riot and Pierce. She has been raising her children in Seattle their entire lives, in addition to single-motherhood since their father moved to Florida in August 2021. After arranging a trip for the children to see their father in Florida for winter break, they were supposed to return on New Year's Eve. Instead of a happy reunion after their holiday vacation, Merlee got a text message stating that he was keeping both of them indefinitely. He would not be giving them back.

 

Merlee bought a ticket to Florida leaving to get them the next day. Upon arriving with police to return the children to her custody, it was alleged that everyone in the house, including the children, were positive with COVID-19! Both Riot and Pierce were returned to Merlee under the caveat they would have to quarantine in Florida and receive negative results before returning to Seattle.

 

This has already placed the family in financial hardship with flights, extended hotel stays, car rental, and food, not to mention Merlee being unable to work for 10 days and counting. Florida testing sites were unavailable for several days, and results not available for 72 hours. She has spent over $3,000 in savings to reunite with her children, who are still several days from being home.

 

The hardship has now been added to exponentially by her ex initiating an emergency custody hearing, asking for uniform custody in Florida this upcoming week. She is now seeking an attorney immediately to fight for the best interest of her children and Merlee. Anything you are able to donate would really help them.
