Get Treatment For Kevin
Donation protected
Kevin has been on journey for the past 2 1/2 years after being the victim of a unprovoked vicious attack which left him in a coma and fighting for his life. After several operations on his skull and brain which included removing almost half of his skull we still didn’t know if he was going to survive. To the doctors surprise and due to Kevin’s determination he eventually came round and was making progress. After several months in hospital he managed to walk a little and eventually he was transferred for rehabilitation. After almost a year in rehabilitation centre he is still left with severe brain damage and is unable to speak or communicate with anyone. He doesn’t actually fully understand what has happened to him, it’s absolutely tragic. He is unable to work due to this and has lost his independence including being able to get to Parkhead to watch his beloved Celtic team.
It has come to light that there is an procedure called ‘stem cell treatment’ which is available in Switzerland. This is a very delicate procedure to try and repair the damaged part of Kevin’s brain that contains the speech.
This medical procedure is unavailable on the NHS and will cost £30,000. We are hoping to try and raise funds to help Kevin be able to get this treatment to allow him to try and get as normal a life as possible.
The family appreciate your support for Kevin and hope we manage to raise enough to send Kevin for this life changing treatment.
Thank you for all your help in making this a possibility.
