Get YOUR name in an Olympian's Sled!

Hi, I'm Nathan Ikon Crumpton, a skeleton racer representing American Samoa (the small island territory in the South Pacific [and I'm its only winter-sport athlete!]) and I'm aiming for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. Want to help me get there and have your name inside my sled for the season?

 

FAQ:

How long have you been doing skeleton? This is my 11th year, and I've never done a public fundraiser before. I've always relied on my jobs & support from people I know. This is my first time doing a GoFundMe.

 

Why now? Because the expenses for an already expensive sport are extra ridiculously high this season, largely due to the COVID world we're in. Equipment is expensive to begin with ($10,000+ for sled & runners, $300 for our specialized shoes, $700+ for our race suits), intercontinental travel is bonkers (particularly with regular PCR COVID tests & insane rental car prices), and all the other lodging, physiotherapy, gym, and food expenses.

 

Are you any good at skeleton? My best World Cup finish is 5th, and my best World Championship finish is 8th, both in 2016. I'm at the tail end of my career, and since competing for American Samoa, I'm doing everything on my own. I'm my own coach, my own trainer, my own administrator and logistics manager, which makes the task extra difficult. But now you can be a part of the journey!

 

What's in it for a donor? Your name can go inside my sled as I try to achieve a number of Olympic Firsts. I'm a 2020 Olympian as well (100m in Athletics), and am attempting to become the first athlete to compete in Summer & Winter Olympics in consecutive years . I would also be the first 100m dash athlete to compete in skeleton at the Olympics (and vice versa), as well as the first ASA athlete to compete in both the Summer & Winter Olympics (as well as the first ASA athlete to compete in the Winter Olympics in an individual sport). There are 3 levels of support:

 

Gold Level Supporters: $10,000+ These are for the big corporate donors, who will get a sticker inside & outside my sled (but gets removed from the outside if I make it to the Olympics, per IOC rules), plus I'll take a trip to your corporate HQ (for any US or EU based company) for a speech and an insider's account on this unique Olympic experience. And if you'd like, I can bring my skeleton sled and you can feel what it's like to lay on a bespoke piece of (hopefully history-making) sporting equipment.

 

Silver Level Supporters: $1,000+ Your name goes inside the sled + the outside of the sled (but gets removed from the outside if I make it to the Olympics, per IOC rules). The outside of the sled serves as advertising during the regular season of skeleton racing.

 

Bronze Level Supporters: $100+ Get your name on the inside of my sled for the duration of the season, up to and including the Olympic Winter Games, should I qualify by the Jan 16th 2022 deadline. And it doesn't just need to be your name - it can be any two word combination you want (PG13 & below). Be creative! It's your space inside the sled to do what you want with....
