Let's Get Frank Talking Again

Donation protected

You may know Frank Oravetz because of his long career in law enforcement.  Or you may know Frank because of his marvelous eye as a photographer.  Perhaps you know him as a friend, a neighbor, a colleague.  However you know him, you know that he is a generous, kind, and compassionate man.  You know he has a most wonderful, playful sense of humor.   And, yes, if you know Frank, you know he can talk your ear off!

Recently Frank suffered a significant stroke. It was completely unexpected.  After 20 years of courageously battling leukemia, this was a complete surprise.  Frank is working heroically in rehabilitation to try to recover movement in his right side.  He is working even more heroically to recover his ability to speak.   Yes, it is unimaginable:  Our dear Frank currently cannot speak.  He can understand what is going on, but he cannot express himself.

Over the years, Frank has quietly helped so very many people in so very many ways.  Now Frank could use your help.

Luckily, insurance is paying for his acute rehabilitation.  However, when he returns home he will need round-the-clock in-home care for quite some time and this is not covered by insurance.  He also will need ongoing and intensive physical, speech and occupational therapies in order to help him return to the smiling and chatty Frank that we love.

I know I am biased:  Frank has been the love of my life for 40 years this year.  But I know there are many other people who know and love him, too.  Already, so many people have asked how they can help. This is one very tangible way you can help.

Any donation, in any amount, would help Frank safely remain at home as he courageously re-learns all those things we take for granted: Getting dressed, bathing, eating, walking, smiling fully, laughing and, yes, talking.

So, can you please help me:  Let's work together to get Frank  talking  again.

Thank you so very much.

A note about Facebook:   Those of you who know me know that I am not the most tech-savvy person.  And that extends to social media.  I don't have a personal Facebook page, and neither does Frank.  We don't even have one for Visual Ovation Photography.  So if you choose to donate, don't be frightened by the notation that says that I have not been "Facebook verified." It just means that I am still a Facebook luddite.
