All this must be completed under 17 hours as well as meeting intermediatory cut offs.

After competing at Ironman UK in Bolton, Sue achieved an impressive 3rd place in her age group, which earned her a spot to take on the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii!

For those that don’t know, The Ironman World Championships is the equivalent of the World Cup in football but comes around more often!

Getting to know Sue:

Sue is a self-employed sports massage therapist based in Whitefield and Warrington. As well as being a super talented triathlete, she is a loving mum to her three children: Beth, Brandon, and Quintin, along with her faithful Beagle, Hunter.

Life hasn't always been easy for her, as she was born with Scoliosis, requiring her to wear a back brace for support. But here's the beautiful part – at school, Sue discovered her love for sports, which allowed her to find relief from the brace. Alongside school sports like hockey and netball, she's also an excellent skater!

What is Scoliosis?

Scoliosis is where the spine twists in a S shape and can put pressure on vital organs as well as giving ongoing back pain.

Nowadays, Sue's a remarkable triathlete and an active member of Tri Central, guided by her coach, Tony Cullen. Her dedication and hard work have not only led to podium finishes but have also inspired others around her. Sue's always there to offer a kind word of advice or encouragement to everyone making her a much-loved member of the team.

Now, Sue's gearing up for her biggest challenge yet - the Ironman World Championships in Kona.

It's a fantastic opportunity for her to prove her mettle and take on top athletes from around the world.
