Getting Angela Back on her Feet

Our friend, para-athlete and big-hearted brilliant veterinarian Angela has had quite the medical journey over the past several years.
A bone infection made her a below-the-knee amputee and she wouldn't let it stop her from riding her horses, skiing and running her clinic.
However, the infection returned and she spent the last year and a half, in and out of the hospital, sometimes 3 times a day for months of IV antibiotics and multiple surgeries.
Her ability to work was limited or impossible during this time due to treatment demands or recovering and healing post-surgery. Her partner Ward has been her rock through this, taking time off work to support her when needed through this storm.
She was no longer able to use her prosthetic due to the damage to her knee and found a wheelchair that allowed her to get around- out of pocket.
Add up medication costs and trips to Edmonton for specialists, it's all taken a toll.
Surgeons were forced to amputate her knee in March. This changes her mobility yet again. She needs a new prosthetic knee that costs $50,000 and there is no insurance coverage for this expense.
