Getting Kyle dentures to replace his broken teeth
Donation protected
Update, 7/07/21: Kyle had his first appointment with the dentist that will actually be doing the work. Once that was done, we found out we need to come up with some additional money because of how complicated some of the work will be. You all have already been so generous and kind and we feel weird asking for more help. Kyle’s working at a coffee shop so we’re trying to put as much of that toward the teeth as we can but it won’t be enough to pay for the appointment for another few months and we’d like to get it done ASAP. If you can kick in, that’s awesome, or just share! Prayers are also greatly appreciated.
Update: Thank you guys so much for your generosity. We have been overwhelmed and humbled by every single donation. We are almost to the first goal: if we get to $5000, Kyle can have the first stage of the work done. It will cover all of the extractions, molding temporary dentures after the swelling goes down, and the temporary dentures he’ll need to wear for 2-3 months while his gums heal completely. Your donations and shares are making this happen and we appreciate you immensely.
Hello to our friends, family, and church friends and family! We have a huge favor to ask. We need help getting Kyle dentures. Bad teeth run in the family, and despite doing his best to take care of his teeth, he has only a few teeth left that aren't missing or broken. This has been an ongoing problem that got exponentially worse during COVID. It's to the point where it is hard for him to eat and the inside of his mouth is constantly getting cut on the broken teeth. He has not had a pain-free mouth in YEARS and if you've ever had dental pain you know how miserable it is.
There is also, of course, the self-consciousness that comes with being ashamed of how bad the problem is. He's worried about it as he's trying to go out on interviews. He doesn't smile around anyone but our household and that breaks my heart.
The cheapest we have found for full anchored dentures after all the extractions of the broken teeth is a little over $10,000. I know that sounds like a lot of money, and that's because it is - it's almost a third of my annual schoolteacher salary. If a bunch of people give a little bit this miracle might just happen. All money raised will go directly to the dentist.
Getting dentures would be life-changing for him at this point. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you can't donate, no worries! There's other stuff you can do to help. First, feel free to forward it on. If you know of an Oklahoma dentist who can do a full set for less than this, we're happy to travel so give us a heads up. We appreciate you!
