Getting Mike back on his feet.

Mike has been in the hospital ICU and other care centers since April 2nd. Back in late March he came down with what we thought to be the flu or influenza but, after a week and a half when we thought he was getting better he developed weakness in his extremities. After that, within a 24 hour period he went from weakness in his extremities to losing total function to his arms and legs. He was taken to the hospital via ambulance and put on a ventilator, sedated, and tested for what may have caused all of his issues. A day later the tests came back and he tested positive for Covid-19 and negative on everything else.  Days later he was diagnosed with Gillian Barre as well, as a result of his body's immune system response to the disease. His immune system attacked his nerve system as a response to the virus and left him immobile. Mike didn't give up, and after April through the beginning of June. He was able to improve enough to beat Covid, move out of the ICU, and finally get off the ventilator at a rehab facility. He is now at an assisted living facility getting the physical therapy he needs for his limbs to function like they should and get him back on his feet and living life again hopefully like before all of this. As with all of this whole process, it has taken time and patience to see what comes next and how fully he can heal. We, his family and close friends believe he can do it!


Mike has always been a hard worker, and a giver when it comes to life. So this time has been tough on him. Over all of this time he has been in multiple care facilities, and the concern comes to a head that he will need help to take care of these costs as the journey continues.  Anything you may want to give, prayers, thoughts, or monetary donation are very appreciated.
