Getting Sushi Better
Donation protected
Hey, hi, and hello!
My name is Bambi and I'm making this fundraiser for my sister Kelly and I.
In early July of 2023 we were blessed with one of our ferals we look after bringing us her kittens. We fostered the 4 of them, knowing that they needed the care we could provide and with the help of Almost Home Cat Rescue we did that.
At the end of August half the litter passed away within 12 hours due to kidney failure. We made the decision at that time we were going to be failing the foster process and adopting Sushi and his sister Ramen. Since then he has brought so much joy and laughter. From "helping" with making beds, "supervising" us doing the dishes, to every morning sticking his face in your mouth as far as he can playing dentist. He's become a best friend to all.
Which brings us to now.
On 1/23/24 a long thread of carpeting thread was passed.
On 1/24/24 my sister Kelly and I came home around 6:30 after leaving a little before 4 and noticed he was off. Something was not right. He was lethargic, crouching, out of it. I made a few calls and we were at MECA by 7.
Given the history of the litter we ran blood work and did X-rays. Blood work came back clear. Great! X-rays came back showing his stomach was full of food and so was his go tract to his colon and from there also full. He's very dehydrated
We elected to keep him overnight since we don't really know what's wrong.
1/25/24 update as of 12:30pm
He is feeling better after having fluids and keeping him overnight was the right call as he is still not 100%. His stomach has emptied some, but not as much as it should have. He has pooped quite a bit so things are moving, just very slowly. We opted for an enema and tonight at around 9 he will have another set of X-rays to see how things have progressed.
If things are not going the way the vet wants then that's when we have to consider things like surgery.
We just want to bring our baby back.
Thank you for reading
