Getting to Powerlifting World Championships

Hi, my name is Luella Bowden, and I am an 18 year old powerlifter.  I’ve recently picked up the sport and officially started training in July 2022.  At my first competition, I had an official total of 1003 lbs or 455 kgs.  At state championships a few months later, I had a total of 1212 lbs (550 kgs), ranking me 3rd highest squat, deadlift, and total for all sub-junior (14-18) girls.  

Since then, I have gone to Open (all ages) Powerlifting Nationals and won for my gender and weight division.  More and more opportunities have become available to me, including an invitation to join the U.S. National Team for the North American Championships in the Cayman Islands.  This will be from August 7 - August 12.  I also plan to compete at Sub-Junior World Championships in Romania from August 24 - September 3.  

However, I do not currently have the funds to enter as a competitor or to travel. I am trying to raise funds to enter into World Championships and attempt world record lifts. All funds raised will contribute to airfare, lodging, and entry fees for both me and my coach for both competitions.  

Any left over funds will help my family travel to support me.
