Gaston MS Student Council

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page supporting the Gaston Middle School Student Council! We're lucky enough to work with an incredible group of kids this year, and we want to share with you who we are and what we plan to accomplish.
We, Trevor Hoffberger and Dana Czapski, volunteered to take over the Student Council at the beginning of this school year. From the very first interest meeting, we have been blown away by the number of kids interested and the overall sense of enthusiasm. The kids have worked together to generate a list of ideas and goals for the school year, and it didn’t take long to realize that we were going to need some outside support. That’s where you come in. First, though, let us tell you about this extraordinary group of young leaders.
Gaston Student Council comprises 50 students from sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. Each member of the council is unique, but they share a common desire to create positive change at Gaston Middle School and in their East Dallas community. At Gaston, 100% of students are on Free and Reduced Meal Plans, implying that many of our students are not afforded equitable opportunities as their higher-income peers. They often face challenges as a mere result of their household income and zip code.
Despite these realities, our students are determined to impact their classmates, teachers, and greater school community. From school spirit weeks to lake cleanups to holiday and teacher appreciation events, these kids already have incredible ideas to make Gaston and East Dallas a better place. We also hope to cut costs on student expenses for StuCo t-shirts. By donating, you not only help provide resources for these events, but also develop a safe environment for these kids to work in during after-school hours.
