Hi, my name is Peyton, I am 11 years old and I need your help!

The last 3 years, I have been diagnosed with lupus (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, SLE). SLE is an autoimmune illness where your immune system attacks your own normal cells. It mostly affects my skin, liver and joints, but it can affect any part of your body. The cause of lupus is unknown, and researchers are still trying to learn what may trigger or lead to the disease. Stress, exposure to sunlight, infections and some medicines can trigger symptoms of lupus. Doctors know that it is a complex autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks the person's tissues and organs. Lupus can be mild but it can also be life-threatening.

Lupus has caused me to have cutaneous skin disorder. I am in chronic pain everyday which, at times, doesn't allow me to even walk. Having lupus and everything that comes with it has caused me to have poor mental health, this has lead me to have suicide ideations and even caused me to attempt to take my own life. I have severe anxiety and depression because of this.

The NDIS has rejected my application. My mum is a single parent and has other children who also have complex needs. My mum has had to take a lot of time off work due to the lengthy hospital admissions. My family is under a lot of strain and needs your help.

We are trying to get enough funds together so we can get a wheelchair as well as other aids to assist me to shower and help me walk up stairs and block out the sun at home among other things.

Any amount of money you can donate will help me to have a better quality of life and will help my family out drastically.
