Help the European Film Festival

Hi there !

We are a group of students from France and we are organizing the Festival du Cinéma européen (European Film Festival), aiming to promote French and European short films.

This festival was first created in 1984 with the aim of saving a small local cinema from Lille, the “Arc-en-ciel”, and we are glad to say that we are hosting the 40th anniversary of that same festival this year!

We are today reaching out to the awesome people on GoFundMe because we need your help. Since Covid-19 the sector of art has been left out in France, and the current economic conjecture has made it so that many of our partners had to stop funding us. Moreover, since we are a student festival, we recently lost the French government’s subventions we were receiving, which makes your help even more important.

Moreover, as enthusiasts of short films and cinema we believe that everyone should get equal access to this culture. Therefore, during the year, we go in schools, hospitals, retirement homes and prisons to promote short films and show some of our favorites!

With the money gathered from your donations we would be able to:

- Pay for the cinemas in which we organize our festival ;

- Pay for the housing for the judges and guests ;

- Pay for the flyers and posters ;

- Pay for the site where we advertise the festival.
