The Solomon Family

Jay and Ashley desperately need help during this time. This family is a hard-working family. They have been through so much and have not asked for anything. They serve in their church and give where they can; Ashley had hosted many fundraisers for others when she ran her clothing business, and they are the type of person you call when you need help. They are there for you if they can be. Jay was even helping his neighbors the day they buried their daughter simply because that neighbor needed help. Now they desperately need help, and we want to help them back on their feet. They are overwhelmed and tired. Please help us help them this time around.

This family has been through so much in the past four years, especially this past year and a half. Jay and Ashley have five young kiddos from 9 to 2 yrs old and their two heavenly babies. Just this past year and a half, this family experienced a miscarriage back in June of 2021, losing their family pet of 10 years to cancer in December of 2021; two weeks later, finding out their rainbow baby had a terminal congenital disability the first week of January 2022. Ashley carried her baby girl Vivian, as long as she physically could and gave birth to her in April of this year. She only lived 35 minutes before passing away.

Since their babies passing, they have had countless other trials and tribulations. They have struggled with water issues since moving into this home four years ago. They have had days where they have had little to no water. Days where pumps burned out and had to be replaced in the dead of winter, days where they required climbing under the house or in the Sandpoint well house to get the pump going again. They have had electric water heaters burn out and have had to heat water on their wood stove due to air in the lines from the lack of water pumped to the house. They had days where they survived on emergency gallons of water they stored in their pantry. They had times when they had to shower at families' houses and manually haul water to the house. Drilling a well was necessary for this family and something they couldn't put off any longer. They had saved all they could and took a loan out for the rest to make this possible. They thought that with their neighbor drilling a well, they knew the depth they thought they would have to go and thought they could afford it. However, fate wasn't kind to them. They had to double the depth their neighbor went for half of the gallons per minute their neighbor got, doubling all the expenses. They only have enough money to cover roughly half the cost of the well. On top of this, they are fighting time and weather to have a pump placed, new electrical wiring going from their house down to the pump, and cover the water lines back up before they freeze. They are also stuck in the middle of replacing their house's foundation, which couldn't have waited any longer. The original portion of their home was post pier, and the posts weren't set in the ground or even supporting the house. The few doing their job were rotting, and now that is all exposed to the elements as well.

The things this family has faced and the more they continue to face are just overwhelming, to say the least. Funds raised through this go fund me will help them pay for half of the well expenses they don't have. Anything beyond the well expenses will help them come back from all the memorial and medical costs they faced earlier this year and help them fix their failing foundation. Please help us help them this time around. They are a hard-working well, deserving family!
