What’s that saying… God won’t give you more than you can handle?… well God, I can say that you are really pushing the limits for my family.
In 2015, my sister, Csala, had a terrible car accident, while I am grateful she survived, it left her paralyzed from the waist down. Though it was a difficult road, she has settled into her new life in a wheelchair, substitute teaching, selling Color Street, and even having twins.
On Friday July 8th, she was at physical therapy, something that she does often to keep up the strength in her body. This PT appt however was like no other, Csala broke both of her femurs while doing one of the instructed exercises. She went in for surgery on July 10th where an embolism caused by the break traveled through her heart and into her lung. She is still in the ICU making small strides every day. However due to being on ECMO and a ventilator for nearly two weeks she will have a long road ahead to recovery but we are taking things one day at a time.
Since her husband is also paralyzed from the waist down the situation is a little more challenging. I’m asking for support to her and her family - to help with any expenses related to the care of their twins while her husband is with her at the hospital and given the cost of inflation these days, the gas needed to drive back and forth.
Even if you are unable to donate financially, there are other ways you can help; Lehigh Valley hospital, along with hospitals around the country have a critical blood shortage. So, if you are willing and able, donating blood is a great way to help Csala or someone who is in a position like hers. Miller Keystone across from LVH Cedar Crest is taking donations by appointment only. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and we are grateful for all of you.
