Help Jason Beat Cancer
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
Many of you who know us well know that our neighbour, Jason, is an incredibly important person in our lives - it even seems a little reductive to call him a neighbour.
It was around Halloween when he moved in across the street. He came over to our house to introduce himself, and the rest was history - he became a part of our family. When we were teenagers, Jason drove us to school and whatever sports practice we had when our mom was at work. Since getting older, we always look forward to trying new restaurants around Ottawa with him. He’s a regular staple around the table at Christmas, Thanksgiving and to celebrate whatever important milestone comes our way.
He’s the kindest and most generous person to ever introduce himself to us - which is something we think probably everyone who knows Jason would say about him. Each Christmas or birthday, when we ask him what he wants for the occasion, he always tells us to donate to charity. When it comes to animals, we’ve never met a creature that wasn’t drawn to his kind and caring disposition.
Unfortunately, in June of this year, Jason was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, which has since spread to his liver and lungs, forcing him to go on leave from his work as a Network Analyst at the National Research Council.
Jason’s condition has worsened as of late, as he was diagnosed with pneumonia, which has resulted in him having to stop chemotherapy. Despite our need to remain hopeful, we seem to continue to receive bad news with regards to Jason’s prognosis and treatment.
As a result of his worsening condition, Jason is unable to return to work. He’s currently facing the grim possibility of getting behind on bills and potentially losing his home, while fighting pneumonia and stage 4 cancer in the hospital.
We ask anyone who knows Jason, who knows us or anyone with a few dollars to spare to consider donating to Jason’s cause. If you know him, he probably helped you with something once before - so please consider returning the favour. :) If you’re unable to donate at this time (that’s OK, of course!), please consider sharing this link with your friends and encouraging them to donate.
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this. We greatly appreciate your consideration.
