Charity Shabbat!

Donation protected
Hi!

My name is Rachel Tannenbaum and I am the Chair of Social Justice on the Student Executive Board of Cornell Hillel. For this year’s Charity Shabbat, which will take place on Friday, November 21, we are working with SHALVA, an organization that provides services for disabled children and their families in Israel. SHALVA strives to provide children of all ages with programs and therapy to better integrate them into the community and help them reach their full potential.

This charity is especially important to the Cornell Hillel community, as many students felt they could relate to this cause. Ilan Rasooly, who passed away just one month ago, was among the many advocates for this organization and was passionate about promoting awareness of this cause throughout campus. In addition to serving as the co-president of the Center for Jewish Living, Ilan played an important role in the coordination of Charity Shabbat and championed the idea of working with SHALVA.  We plan to donate all of the funds to SHALVA to honor Ilan’s dedication to Cornell Hillel and specifically to this event.
