Help Ghaith & his community trapped in Gaza
Donation protected
Ghaith Alrayyes needs your support. He and his family, along with millions of others are trapped in Gaza, facing the brutal realities of war. Ghaith and his family have lost their relatives, their home, and their family business.
Ghaith attended Grant High School in Portland, Oregon as an exchange student during the 2018-2019 school year. Ghaith played for the lacrosse team, wrestled for the school, and was involved in numerous other activities in the Grant community. In this short period, Ghaith touched the lives of many and made lifelong friends.
Ghaith grew up in Gaza city where the brunt of the violence has been felt the hardest. During the current escalation of violence, Ghaith’s family lost their home and business. On November 8th, his cousin Maysara Alrayyes, his wife, two parents, two sisters, and his sister’s three children were killed in an airstrike that destroyed their home. As a result of this airstrike, Ghaith and his family are displaced with nowhere to go. They are living in a single residential home with 9 other families.
Our friend Ghaith needs your help. Contributions will help Ghaith afford diabetic and cardiac medicine for his parents. Additionally, the funds will support the nine other families living with him. When this war is over, we hope the funds can help Ghaith and his family recover.
Funds will be sent to Ghaith’s brother, Sadullah, who is safe in Turkey. Ghaith’s family has access to his account and will be able to withdraw the money from banks in southern Gaza which are still open.
This is our chance to help those stuck in this horrific war. Every contribution will help these families survive. Through our conversations with Ghaith, we extend his thanks to you for your generosity.
UPDATE BELOW:
He has now been accepted into the University of Oregon on partial scholarship and needs to fundraise the rest in order to attend school in Oregon. He is currently in Egypt after getting out of Gaza with money we raised in our first round of donations! He and his family, along with millions of others have been facing the brutal realities of war. Ghaith and his family have lost their relatives, their home, and their family business. Funds donated will continue to go directly to Ghaith via Sadullah, allowing him to afford University tuition, housing, and travel costs.
