GhostLight is a digital theatrical training ground and a virtual theatre space. Launched in response to the self-isolation necessitated by the current global health crisis, Ghost Light will keep the Canadian performing arts community active, inspired, and engaged.
Co-Founded by Canadian theatre artists Graham Abbey and Dylan Trowbridge, GhostLight provides an online platform for theatrical mentorship, collaboration and experimentation. We will offer free and subsidized masterclasses, workshops and mentoring with the highest calibre of creative artists, including Seana Mckenna, Atom Egoyan, Micheal Healey, Erin Shields, and Dion Johnstone. The GhostLight team has been overwhelmed with the enthusiastic response from our community, and has already received media coverage in both The Globe and Mail and Now Toronto.
In addition to our interactive training opportunities, we are also excited to launch “Friday Night at the GhostLight”, an in-depth, entertaining interview series profiling legendary Canadian cultural figures, with a focus on mentorship.
The funds raised will be used to fund the website and technology needed to provide the classes, and to compensate our guest instructors, TAs and other staff.
Our mission is to bolster our industry by providing theatre artists with opportunities to learn and opportunities to work.
