Gibson Family Flood Expense Relief Fund

Our best friends, Joel and Ashley Gibson and their three pups, have been misplaced from their home since November 30th due to a severe sewage flood that destroyed their basement and contaminated the remainder of their home. The unfortunate timing of the flood worsened the damage, as Joel and Ashley were away celebrating 10 years of marriage and renewing their wedding vows.

A clog in the cities main sewage line backed up into their home. The flood water and debris went unnoticed for days until an observant neighbor spotted water standing in their yard.

Due to a clause written into their home owners insurance that renders damage from sewage uncovered, Joel and Ashley are left to pay for the mitigation and decontamination of their home totaling over $30,000. Additional expenses from temporary housing of themselves as well as their pets, missed work days and other miscellaneous expenses are rising daily, and these costs do not include the replacement of damaged drywall, flooring, furniture or personal items.
