Help Cover Gidget’s Vet Bills & Bring Her Home

Hi, I’m Aza, and I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help like this. But after the most heartbreaking two weeks of my life, I need to reach out.

My best friend of almost 15 years, Gidget, has been by my side through everything—every high, every low, every moment in between. She was more than just my dog; she was my family, my comfort, my little shadow, and the most loyal companion I could have ever asked for.

After days of emergency vet visits, hospital stays, procedures, medications, and constant monitoring, I had to say goodbye to her. Despite doing absolutely everything possible to keep her comfortable and give her a fighting chance, her little body just couldn’t keep going. I’m completely devastated.

The last two weeks have come with an overwhelming financial burden. Her vet bills have exceeded $8,000, and with the cost of her final hospital stay, her passing, and bringing her home to scatter her ashes in her favourite places, that number is still climbing.

As someone juggling four different jobs—three freelance and one casual—every day off means no income. I’ve had to cancel all my gigs and shifts to be there for her, which has left me in an even more difficult financial position.
