David Crecco's Eagle Project (Troop 147, Nutley)
Donation protected
Hello, my name is David Crecco, and I am a scout in Troop 147 of Nutley, New Jersey. After several years of being involved in scouting, I am working towards the rank of Eagle, which is scouting's highest honor. My final requirement to earn the Eagle rank is to complete an Eagle Project, which is a service project to benefit the community.
My project is titled the "Gift of Comfort" and it begins with a donation drive, that will be used to buy toys that are safe and hygienic for hospitalized children. These toys would then be distributed to children who are in treatment in the Hoboken University Medical Center’s new pediatric wing. This hospital is especially important to me because I was born there.
Toys not only help to reduce anxiety in children, but they also help to create a positive atmosphere that will allow the children to cope while in a hospital environment. This also allows us to make a real difference in the lives of sick children and their families, giving them a touch of happiness in their time of need.
It is my hope that by providing these items, a child’s stay at the hospital will be a little more enjoyable and less stressful. My project will potentially aid their outcomes by helping the children keep a positive attitude. My overall goal is to help lift the spirits of children of all ages who are in treatment.
Please assist me in giving the Gift of Comfort to hospitalized children. A donation of any amount is welcome and would help to meet our goal. All donations collected will be directly utilized to purchase toys by age group. Every little bit counts!
I ask that you share this link with as many people as possible to help spread the word. Thank you!
